IRENE Xpert currently consists of four different modules: IRENE Xpert St is the standard basic module and is a valuable tool to calculate and analyse your gas networks of any size (up to more than 100,000 pipelines per network), based on imported geographical data of your pipeline systems and the (projected or known) consumptions (loads) in your networks. In the Netherlands this product is currently used by almost all natural gas network controllers. The result of the calculation will provide you with the entire pressure distribution in your gas networks, the flows and their directions, the pressure drops and the gas speed, all presented graphically in a very clear way. It is a powerful software package in which gas technology and information technology are effectively combined. IRENE Xpert uses the CAD functionality of MicroStation (from Bentley) as the Graphics User Interface and imports and exports its data via an Oracle Database. The exchange format for the imported data and the exported results is based on a Dutch standard (NEN 1878).
Additional to the vast possibilities of IRENE Xpert St, the module IRENE Xpert Dsigner offers you valuable support in the design of new gas networks or extensions. It is a unique package with which you can, amongst other things, determine your optimal pipeline diameters in the network, per chosen pipe material. With the third module, IRENE Xpert CML, risk analyses are added to the functionalities of IRENE Xpert St. With the CML (Customers Minutes Lost) module you gain a good insight in the distribution of the security of supply in your network. Questions regarding which pipeline or which gas station is most critical at failure can be answered with this module. With the fourth module, IRENE Xpert Profile, calculations can be made using the consumption profiles of your customers (consumers). In this way you can calculate or simulate the pressure distribution and flows in your gas networks at a certain time of the day at a certain date of the year. This is useful, for example, when you are planning maintenance or repair activities.
